Getting High and Building Armored Combat Vehicles

I am a huge fan of the the United States rapid advancements in the area of armored vehicles. Without these advancements there would be more causalities from Improvised Explosive Devices. I wouldn’t be alive today if it were not for these technology advancements. Then, I read an article today that made me wonder how safe I really was on the battlefield.

Tower Defense and Aerospace Factory Workers Party at Lunch: MyFoxDETROIT.com

It appears that employees at Tower Defense and Aerospace are under investigation for smoking marijuana and drinking during their lunch breaks. This company builds components for armored vehicles that keep our military safe. I feel disrespected that these people would partake in this type of activity while making armored part for our troops.

When this company was awarded the contract to supply these parts to the military, they were entrusted with the lives of our fighting men and women. The people who were hired were also entrusted in the same thing. I could almost bet there are reminders spread through out the building of who they are there for. So, I think using the word disrespected is putting it mildly. Maybe betrayed is a better word.

Here is the even crazier part. This firm was awarded the contract for military parts about 10 years ago. In 2009 the company made was making $90 million a year. I am glad taxpayers have entrusted the safety of the military to people who think it is alright to smoke a little weed or have a little drink during lunch. At least now we know our money is going back into the pockets of drug dealers.

Toward the end of the video it is stated that Tower Defense and Aerospace is aware of the problem and are conducting their own investigation. I wonder how many months that it will take them to decide that this unacceptable behavior.

I have depended on this equipment to protect my soldiers and myself. I have had the opportunity to field test the integrity of the equipment. I am grateful that every time I put it to the test it worked. Everyone who has someone they love or care for should be outraged. You don’t even have to know someone wearing a uniform to be pissed off that your tax dollars are going toward this kind of behavior. If it makes you made then please let someone know. Pass this on, contact your Congressman or Senator. Don’t let someone incapacitated have anything to do with keeping our military safe.
